About TripContext

What is TripContext?
TripContext is a travel-planning platform focused on Portugal. It helps travelers plan around their real travel context and connects them with relevant local experts.
Is TripContext a travel agency?
No. We do not sell fixed packages and we do not act as the travel provider. We review your request and connect you with a local expert who delivers the service.
Is TripContext a tour marketplace?
No. There is no catalogue of tours to browse and book. Each request is reviewed and matched with a local expert suited to the destinations and travel style.
Is requesting a proposal free?
Yes. Sending a request is free, and there is no obligation to book anything.
Which parts of Portugal do you cover?
We have dedicated planning content for Porto, Lisbon, the Douro Valley, Aveiro, Coimbra, Fátima, Sintra, the Algarve, and Braga & Guimarães. Requests for Madeira and the Azores can also be submitted.
Can I request only a guide for one day?
Yes. A single day with a private guide is one of the most common requests, and often the most useful part of a trip.
Can I request a guide with a car?
Yes. Guide plus private vehicle works well for the Douro Valley, day trips from Lisbon or Porto, and routes where public transport adds a lot of dead time.
Can you help with a multi-day itinerary?
Yes. Local experts can help shape the order, pace and logistics of a longer trip, including where to base yourself and how many nights each place deserves.
Can you help families with children?
Yes. Ages, naps, stroller access and realistic walking distances are part of the request precisely so they shape the plan.
Can you help senior travelers?
Yes. Slower pacing, fewer hotel changes, shorter transfers and more seated time can all be built into the plan.
Can you help travelers with reduced mobility?
Often, yes. Tell us what matters — steps, cobbles, walking distance, wheelchair or stroller use — and we will be honest about which places are difficult and which are workable.
Who provides the travel service?
The local expert. TripContext reviews the request, matches it and helps coordinate the introduction; the expert creates the proposal and delivers the agreed service.
Can I choose not to proceed after receiving a proposal?
Yes. You can ask questions, request changes or decline. Nothing is committed until you agree with the expert.
How quickly will I hear back?
We aim to review requests promptly and come back to you with next steps. Complex multi-destination requests can take longer to match well.
Do you guarantee availability?
No. Availability depends on the local experts and the dates involved. We tell you honestly when a request is difficult to match.
Can local experts work with TripContext?
Yes. Licensed guides, drivers and local operators in Portugal can apply through the local experts page.
